Lakers vs. Jazz 1/25/2011

Was cruising SoCal and decided to check out the Los Angeles Lakers at the Staples Center. My first Lakers game ever. They completely whooped up on the Utah Jazz 120-91. Best part was a combination of a Lakers victory and keeping the Jazz under 100 points scored the entire crowd free tacos from Jack-in-the-Box. As the game neared an end the entire crowd was chanting "We want Tacos!" Funny part is the coupons they gave us were expired. Oh well~~

Starbucks Card: "Twilight"

I was never a fan of the "Twilight" Starbucks Card, but the coffee it bought sure was good!

Starbucks Card ~ Twilight

Marines~ The Few. The Proud.

"No Shortcuts, No Substitutions"

Pretty sure I found this sticker while working as a recruiter for the Marine Corps in San Francisco. The sticker comes from the 1997 Hoop it Up 3 on3 Basketball Tournament.

Welcome to Korea

Called ahead to Inchon Airport in South Korea to have a taxi waiting for me, and they had this sign posted waiting for me. Thought it was pretty cool.

At the time United Airlines flight 883 flew from Narita, Japan to Incheon.

FMF-PAC

I was cleaning out the office and found these old school FMF-PAC stickers.

Not to be confused with MARFORPAC, The United States Fleet Marine Force, Pacific is the largest maritime landing force in the world. Its units are spread across the Pacific Ocean and reports to the United States Pacific Command. It is headquartered at MCB Camp H. M. Smith, HI.

Wandered down to Palms Casino Resort while in Las Vegas to meet friends at the sportsbook. Of course we grabbed some drinks (and a napkin) from the bar before we left.

Starbucks Cards

Was cleaning out my wallet and found three Starbucks cards with zero balance. I'm pretty sure all three were birthday presents! My friends know me well~

Vice Presidential Visit

"The Visit of the Vice President of the United States to Tokyo, Japan May 12-15, 1992."

I was working at the American Embassy at the time and somehow got a hold of a notebook that had this cover on it. Who was the Vice President in 1992 anyway? Who is it now? Just kidding... I do believe it was Dan Quayle, but didn't get a chance to meet him.

Magic of Polynesia

I'm not one to do the touristy things in Waikiki, but the Magic of Polynesia by John Hirokawa was definitely worth seeing. Don't let this boring ticket fool you. We ended up going when some friends visiting the island read the brochure that said "The #1 Show in Waikiki!" I just may have to agree with that statement.
